It's thaknsgiving, and I'm having a great break.

So, if today is friday and I'm posting, that means the statement about leaving friday on the previous post was in error. I'm leaving tomorrow morning. Which is great, because I got to see Mewitoutyou last night at the Emerson. I'm feeling pretty indie right now. Not.
I like the music, and that's about it. The anorexic clothing, the hair, the fact that most of the 'scene' looks like they just walked off the cover of the Ramone's edition of Rolling Stone...there's nothing that enacts my indifference then pointless parody. It was like a living history museum from 1981. So much for the indie scene.
Mewithoutyou is great though.

I'm in the middle of starting to pack.

I'm reading a history of the Catholic Church.

I'm ready to get on the road.
Talk to you all in a month. I'd like to have lots of little notes left for me to read when I get back.

Things that are happening

Wow, summer is off to a great start. I've been working, but have had the past few days off. Last week, my trusty old laptop broke down, maybe never to return, and now its in the shop. So, sorry for not updating. Given the current laptop situation, it may be in my future that soon a Mac mini will be in my life. Just as a transition for my senior year. This would be amazing.

Friday I and my brother and my mother are going to Chicago for a week, to Wheaton Collage in particular, for a Ravi Zacharias Ministries conference. Its a lot of worldview and christian apologetics, and hopefully someone there will tell me where I'm suppossed to be going to graduate school. So, there for a week, and then my brother and I will be leaving for Boston and Main for about 13 days. Its kind of his senior trip, and just a place we've never been.

I'm still plugging away at Les Miserables, and going to the library today to facilitate that project.

Ok, time to clean house.

Today I woke up late for my job, slept through lunch, and tore down wallpaper from my sister's room. I guess pink and children dancing are not her thing anymore.

Tomorrow I head to Taylor U. again to present a paper at the C.S. Lewis and Friends meeting there over the weekend. I'm doing a reader's theater too. And I'll just be helping out mostly, which is really the main reason I'm going (also it's part of a class that I took during the spring term). So, there's my next four days laid out.

I've been listening to a lot of new music lately, and a band that I'm really enjoying is The Decemberists. Named after a Russian revolutionary movement from 1825, the band sings mostly 'story songs' or ballads, mainly historical in nature, calling to mind the era of Moby Dick. Great narrative style, excellent musicianship, but the lead singer's voice takes a few songs to get used to.

Ok, and I'm reading Les Miserables too. And now, I'm going swimming.

Well, I didn't actually consider my absense from this web blog a fast, but more like a joyful vow of silence from cyberchatter. Who has the time anyway? Well, I do now, and to be honest, I miss blogging just a bit. And now that I've show myself that I can certainly live without it, I might start it up here again. Although, my paper journal always must take priority over binary. How are people doing? I'm thinking of WVA people in particular.

I'm working at my coffee catering company this summer, as well as traveling to Boston and Chicago, and doing tons of reading. Les Miserables, Wind in the Willows, Crime and Punishment, and Metaphysics. Too much light fluf reading at school, ya know.
